The program indicated in a press statement today that it continued to impose duties on the targeted lands until they are fully liberated, stressing that there are no exceptions in the application of fees on land within the target range in all cities declared and imposed fees.
The program pointed out that the fees do not apply when land development is completed with the adoption of the plan for final approval or construction within one year from the issued date of the "order of payment" to stimulate the development of land and increase the supply of developed land and counteracting monopolistic practices.
The program pointed out that there are many land under the fees developed during the last period, stressing that the application of fees still achieve its objectives through the interaction of owners of raw land to developed it or partnership with the Ministry of Housing to establish housing projects that provide housing units for citizens, and there are many lands materials are being developed in the currently targeted cities.
He pointed out that the executive regulations for Idle lands tax program that the fee revenues are spent on infrastructure development and the delivery of public services and facilities to the housing projects of the Ministry of Housing, which is already achieved through the disbursement of revenues for the development and delivery of public services from water and electricity to a number of projects in different regions of the kingdom.
